The Unpatriotic is a narrative which core message centred on the need for people, especially the politicians to get rid of corruption and abuse of office, and show faithfulness, commitment and love to their fatherland. The book builds its narration around an imaginary state capital, known as Las Verde State, in an imaginary country called Tuti where the attitude and political culture of the politicians as regarding better governance is absolutely nothing to write home about. This shows high level of impunity, greed and insensitivity to the plight of their country. While other countries of the world are striving hard toward achieving progress in all sectors of human endeavours, Tutian politicians imbibe the culture of embezzling public funds in an unacceptable gross manner. Corruption controls every aspect of national life and becomes an epidemic in Tutia, to the point that an opportunity to occupy a public office becomes an opportunity to embezzle public money, throwing and leaving millions of people in abject poverty. Leaders abandon what they were elected for, and begin to pursue materialism at the detriment and wellbeing of the Tutians.The fire of patriotism is quenched, while ember of self-centeredness is being fanned, and make to glow to create a great spectacle for Tutia among comity of nations of the world
