Magic Breas Bags is a collection of short stories written between 2002 and 2017, depicting the experiences of ordinary and not-so-ordinary people in contemporary Nigeria. Altogether, there are twelve deeply human stories that readers would find absorbing and engrossing. Among the themes explored are corruption, gender oppression, police brutality, ingratitude, love, patriotism, violence and friendship. The stories here are rendered in the familiar medium and format of the short story genre, as one used to know it. They are shorn of the excesses often found in many new collections where the objective is to highlight form rather than content. Readers will find this volume a clear, engrossing and cinematographic experience.
