Dancing Masks is a collection filled with poems that explore life through different perspectives – society, family, love, friendship, religion, patriotism and so forth. Here are poems that sparkle in their freshness, beauty and robustness – an exhilarating experience for the reader. The collection has five sections that reinforce each other – Signs of the Times, Fingers of Feeling, Haiku Connections, Ikpem: Pidgin Blues, and Infinite Cycles: The Beginning Ends Where the End Begins. The pidgin poems are humorous but dwell with serious social and current issues such as the menace of Boko Haram in Nigeria. Here also are images from the African indigenous tradition, especially Igbo folklore as well as Western/classic and Christian traditions that express the complexity of the world we live in.
