Poet, journalist, essayist, literary scholar, Tunde Olusunle, epitomises Nigeria's sociocultural diversity at its finest. He was born in Kaduna, capital of the erstwhile North Central State; began his elementary education in Kaduna and completed same in Benin City, capital of the old Midwestern State, in 1975. He attended the Immaculate Conception College, (ICC), also in Benin City, graduating in 1980, and the School of Basic Studies, Kwara State College of Technology, Ilorin for his A'Levels which he wrote in 1982. He earned a Bachelors degree in English in 1985 and a Masters in Literature in 1989, both from the University of Ilorin, and a Doctorate in Media Arts from the University of Abuja in 2020. 
Between August 1985 and July 1986, he underwent the mandatory one-year National Youth Service Corps, (NYSC) in Owerri, Imo State. He taught English and Literature in English in various schools in present day Kwara and Kogi states between 1986 and 1990, before beginning a career in journalism, same year. He served on the Editorial Board of the primordial Daily Times of Nigeria Plc, Lagos, and functioned as chief publicist to three Governors of Kogi State, civilian and military, between 1992 and 1997. He served in Nigeria's Presidency between 1999 and 2007.
An independent scholar, Olusunle is an Adjunct Professor of Creative Writing at the University of Abuja, Nigeria. He has published three volumes of poetry, and four volumes of essays. He has also edited and co-edited a number of other books, while his academic contributions have been published in a plethora of national and international journals, books and festschrifts.
