Abstract

Motivation is something that encourages and stimulates the individual to perform a task. It is crucial in the learning and education process. The main purpose of this discussion is to raise the level of awareness of the various motivation stakeholders in the Nigerian University Education System by focusing on their various responsibilities. The targeted major stakeholders are the universities, lecturers/teachers, parents/guardians and students. It is strongly believed that better and greater results can be achieved if all the stakeholders take their responsibilities seriously and if they work collaboratively. Case studies are cited to demonstrate the importance of effective motivation in the learning process.
