Academic Libraries and E-Learning in Post Covid-19 Global Pandemic in Ignatius Ajuru University of Education

Abstract

The study examined academic libraries and e-learning in post covid-19 global pandemic in Ignatius Ajuru University of Education. The study was guided by two objectives and two research questions. Two null hypotheses were formulated and tested at 0.05 level of significance. The study adopted the correlational research design. The study population comprises 250 library users in Ignatius Ajuru University of Education. The accidental sampling technique was used to select 201 users of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education Library, which stood as the sample size. The instrument used for the collection of data was a structured questionnaire titled; Academic Libraries and E-learning in Post Covid-19 Global Pandemic (ALEPCGP). Mean and standard deviation were used to answer the research questions while the Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient was used to test the null hypotheses. Findings revealed that there is significant and positive relationship between library usage, academic library services usage and e-learning in post covid-19 global pandemic in Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Port Harcourt. Based on the findings of the study, it was therefore recommended that librarians and other library users should acquire relevant ICT skills to enable them ultilise the enormous library services and resources online which enhances e-learning.
