The Nigerian Journal of Transport Technology and Engineering (NJTTE), a peer-reviewed publication of the Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology (NITT), Zaria, invites researchers, engineers, and professionals to submit original research articles, technical reports, and review papers for publication in its October 2025 edition.
The Journal of Transport Technology and Engineering (JTTE) is committed to advancing innovation, research, and development in transport technology and engineering. The journal welcomes high-quality, original contributions from authors worldwide that address contemporary challenges, emerging technologies, and practical solutions across all areas of transport systems and infrastructure.
🔧 Scope and Areas of Focus
The journal accepts manuscripts strictly in the domain of transport technology and engineering, including but not limited to:
- Pavement and Highway Engineering – materials, design, rehabilitation, and performance monitoring
- Traffic Engineering and Control Systems – signal systems, traffic flow optimization, and ITS integration
- Road and Rail Infrastructure Engineering – geometric design, structural integrity, and maintenance techniques
- Sustainable and Resilient Transport Technologies – eco-friendly materials and renewable energy applications
- Transport Safety Engineering – crash investigation techniques, engineering safety audits, driver behavior assessment, and accident prediction modeling
- Vehicle and Mobility Technology – testing, design, and performance of transport vehicles and systems
- Simulation and Modelling of Transport Systems – computational approaches to system design and evaluation
- Smart Transport Solutions – application of AI, automation, IoT, and ICT in transport systems
- Advanced Construction Materials – innovations in materials for roads, bridges, and related structures
- Performance Evaluation of Transport Infrastructure – field instrumentation, testing, and diagnostics
📅 Important Dates
- Call Opens: May 1, 2025
- Submission Deadline: July 31, 2025
- Peer Review Feedback: Within 4–6 weeks of submission
- Expected Publication: September 2025
📥 Submission Process
- All submissions must be made online via the official NJTTE portal.
- Manuscripts should be original, properly referenced, and not under consideration elsewhere.
- All submissions must comply strictly with the journal guidelines. Authors can download the Word template for submission. Submissions that do not follow the template will be declined.
- Initial Submission:
Authors are required to submit the manuscript without any identifying information, including author names, institutional affiliations, or acknowledgments. This ensures a fair and unbiased double-blind peer review process. - Author details will be added only after the manuscript has been accepted for publication.
- A double-blind peer review process will be used to assess all submissions.

💰 Publication Fee
A publication fee of ₦25,000 (Twenty-Five Thousand Naira only) is applicable upon acceptance of the manuscript.
For international authors, a publication fee of $30 (Thirty US Dollars only) applies.
Cover Letter
When submitting a manuscript, authors are required to include a cover letter addressed to the Editor-in-Chief. The cover letter must contain: (i) the title of the paper (ii) complete information on the corresponding author (address and other contact particulars); (iii) acknowledgements and head notes as well as information on possible co-authors.
Authors should confirm that the manuscript is original, has not been published elsewhere, and is not under consideration by any other journal. They should also affirm that all authors have reviewed and approved the manuscript for submission and declare any conflicts of interest or explicitly state that none exist.
Copyright
Authors must sign a Contributor Agreement before their article can be published. The transfer agreement enables Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology to protect copyrighted materials on behalf of the authors, but it does not relinquish the authors’ proprietary rights. The copyrighted transfer covers the exclusive right to produce and distribute the article in print and electronic format, including reprints, photographic reproductions, microfilm or any other reproduction of similar nature, including electronic retrieval systems. Permission to reproduce copyrighted material in a submitted article must be obtained by the authors before submission and any acknowledgements should appear in the typescript or captions as appropriate.
