Abstract
This study is on leveraging e-libraries for equitable information access to support sustainable development goals in industry 5.0. A descriptive survey research design was used to gather information from librarians who are members of the Nigerian Library Association in Anambra, Benue and Rivers states chapter. A cluster sampling method was employed to select 120 librarians comprising 40 from each state chapter of the NLA that has adequate knowledge about SDG and have worked/working in the e-libraries in the respective states. Primary data was gathered using structured questionnaires. The quantitative data was analyzed using descriptive statistics such as mean scores, and standard deviation. The findings revealed that the roles of e-libraries in advancing equitable access to information in support of the SDGs are widely acknowledged among librarians. Librarians generally agree that emerging technologies of the 5th Industrial Revolution have significantly enhanced the functionality and accessibility of e-libraries. E-libraries in developing regions face a combination of infrastructural, technological, socio-cultural, and policy-related challenges that hinder inclusive and equitable access to information. Strengthening e-library roles toward achieving SDGs requires both technical and human resource improvements, strategic collaborations, and policy support were the strategies that significantly enhance the equitable access to information for all users, especially in developing contexts. The study concludes that by leveraging the technologies of the 5th Industrial Revolution, e-libraries can become a powerful tool for promoting inclusive and equitable knowledge dissemination globally. The study recommended strategic policies, investment in digital infrastructure, and the integration of AI-driven solutions to maximize the impact of e-libraries in achieving SDGs..
