Students engage in classroom discussion, seminars, workshops and writing of projects. Hence they need information and how to go about seeking this information regarding their studies. This study therefore investigated the information needs and seeking behaviourofND2 students of School of Science and Technology in Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic Rumuola, Port Ilarcourt Five research questions were formulated to guide the study, the study employed a descriptive survey research design while using a well-structured questionnaire and rating scale as data collection instrument. The sample size of the study is 209, the instrument was designed into two sections. Section A covers the background data of the students while section B covered the research questions. Descriptive statistical techniques like table of frequency counts and percentages were employed in the analysis of the research questions. The study revealed that the major information needs of the respondents are on academic and project work which is the main purpose for seeking information. It was also revealed that the student are not patience and don't seek the assistance of the librarian while seeking information. However, lack of time to consult printed materials tends to be their major problem. It was recommended that student should be encouraged to use other sources of information such as reference materials, journals, newspaper not just depending on lecture note or lecturers textbooks. The library staff should modify their public relations and ensure good rapport between them and the students so as to encourage the students in seeking necessary assistance.
