Editorial

In this issue of the International Journal of Legislative Drafting and Law Reform, the authors discuss several issues of importance in law reform: recent law reform in the cybercrime and cyberterrorism sector of Nigeria; and proposed law reform of the rules of evidence in Eritrea. Furthermore, this issue of the Journal presents a discussion of the evolving landscape of legisprudence in Nigeria, specifically focusing on the use of supporting documents attached to a piece of legislation up for consideration by the National Assembly.

King James Nkum brings us up to date on the advances in Nigeria to curtail cybercrime and cyberterrorism. In recent years, Nigeria has unfortunately found itself to be a hotspot for cybercrime and cyberterrorism. Nkum describes efforts led by the Nigerian government and stakeholders to curtail these issues. Nkum describes the provisions of the Cybercrimes Act and details the positive steps taken by security agencies, financial institutions, and the telecommunications industry. Nkum particularly highlights the role played by the National Communication Commission to coordinate the response.
