Usman Oladipo Akanbi, Ph.D, a creative writer and academic, was born in Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria on December 3, 1968.
He joined the Association of Nigerian Authors in 1998 and currently serves as its National President.
Dr. Akanbi has made profound contributions to both academia and literature, publishing works across poetry, prose and drama. In 2001, he founded the Imodoye Writers Enclave, which hosts a writers' residency programme.
As an accomplished researcher, he has published numerous articles in esteemed scientific journals worldwide. Currently, he serves as the Head of Department of Agricultural Economics and Farm Management at the University of Ilorin, Nigeria.
In addition to his academic and literary pursuits, Dr. Akanbi is a management consultant and a member of the Nigerian Institute of Management, residing in Ilorin with his family.
