The study assesses tricycles as a mode of transportation for commuters in Kaduna state, with a
special emphasis on the Chukun Local Government area. An investigation the study's research
design was chosen a purposive sampling technique is used to identify the study area, whereby 132
sample size is used and it was gotten from Krejcie and Morgan table. However, only 130
questionnaires were retrieved for analysis (26 questionnaires from the Television terminal, 23
from Sabon tasha terminal, 28 from Refinery junction terminal, 27 from maraban rido terminal
and 26 kujama terminal). The study shows that there is significant perception among respondents,
as evidenced by the following findings: 73.7% of respondents claim to take their passengers from
home, 33.8% of respondents take their passengers to school, 48.1% of commuters prefer to use
tricycles as a mode of transportation in the study area, 44.4% of tricycle operators cover an
average travel time of 30 minutes, and 47.4% of commuters believe the government should be
involved in the tricycle industry and the study reveal that government is interested in tricycle
business registration and licensing, according to 48.1% of respondents. The study concludes that
while tricycles significantly improve commuter movement, their potential for contributing to urban
mobility in Kaduna State can be maximized through policy reforms, better infrastructure, public
awareness campaigns, and enhanced safety measures
