Libraries and information accessibility for prevention of COVID-19 in rural area

Majority of Nigerian’s live in the rural areas, they serve the base for the production of food, a major source of capital manufactures, given the contribution of the rural sector to the national economy its health need must be given priorities, so their economy and institutions should not be in a state of stagnation at this era of COVID-19 pandemic. The paper is to highlight the role of the libraries as a social agency for the fight against the spread of COVID-19 virus. It conclude the timely and well packaged COVID-19 information and make it accessible to the people will sustain the control and prevention of the virus, among others, Establishment of public libraries in the rural communities should be considered as an urgent need of the state.
