The study investigated the role of academic libraries in enhancing teaching and learning through audio-visual resources. A survey method was used 90 copies of questionnaire were distributed to library users and staff at Rivers State University, 75 copies of the questionnaire were returned and used for the study. The data were collected using a structured questionnaire self-administered by the researcher Data was analyzed using descriptive statistics and frequency distribution. Percentages were used to compute the data. The findings show that although the library had some audio-visual resources the level of use is poor this could be because the library did not put up enough steps to promote Sage. It was therefore recommended that the library should be committed to collecting audio-visual resources, creating awareness and training users on usage.
