6-ASSESSMENT OF FRCN, KADUNA NOMADIC PROGRAMME “DON MAKIYAYA A RUGA” IN LADUGGA VILLAGE, KACHIA LOCAL GOVERNMENT, KADUNA STATE

This article focuses on Ladugga village to interrogate the perception of the community on the nomadic programme “Don Makiyaya a Rugga” facilitated by the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), Kaduna. Agenda setting and social responsibility theories of the media were adopted. The study adopted survey methodology with questionnaire as the instrument of data collection. Cluster sampling technique was used for the study, 100 questionnaires were administered on the respondents, 93 were filled and returned which were used for data analysis. Findings from the study show that people of Ladugga community are enlightened through listening to “Don Makiyaya a Rugga”. The study concludes that the programme “Don Makiyaya a Rugga” has tremendous impact on the people of Ladugga community because of its educative and informative package.
